SADHU BOARD

A sadhu board is originally a wooden plank covered with sharp, evenly spaced nails, used in ancient Indian practices for standing meditation. The name comes from “sadhu,” meaning holy person or spiritual seeker. You practice it by standing barefoot on the nails to stimulate pressure points.

"this is not
a sadhu board"

Together with my father, I designed a unique version of the Sadhu Board. Instead of nails, this version uses cones, making meditation more accessible and perfect for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

The Sadhu Board is made with a 3D printer and is partially made of wood and plastic. It features a signature Artiza design on both sides and is available in two colors: light wood and dark wood.

instructions

Perfect for starting your day fresh or relaxing before bed. It’s also an ideal starting exercise for yoga practitioners, as it stimulates your nervous system and brings you fully into the present moment.

  • Place the two planks on the floor, with the nails facing upward. Place them approximately shoulder-width apart.
  • Stand barefoot with both feet on the planks. If this is too painful, you can also keep your socks on.
  • Remain standing and focus on your breathing.
  • Then focus on the different sensations you feel: pain, relaxation, tingling, etc.
  • If you’d like to push yourself a bit further, you can also do gentle stretching movements with your arms and legs, or even bend your knees and stand back up.
  • Try to see how long you can hold it, and try to stay on the planks a little longer the next time. Observe the effect of staying on the planks for longer.
